thus, ten = 3 characters.

Another solution is
(x div 6) * 3 = y
or
div(x,6) * 3 = y

But the real one is that since twelve contains six letters and six contains three letters, the real answer is three since ten also contains three.

That’s the kragnir sollution. There are an infinite amount of other sollutions.
