Choices
Quite recently I heard about a friend of mine being told that “There are no choices, that’s just not how it works” by her parents, when she had told them about something she had chosen to do.
In my opinion this is really not a good thing to tell your children, especially youths, as it often can be quite a hard time because often you haven’t quite figured the world and your look at it out yet.
However, that is not the only issue with that statement. The other is that essentially, the statement is wrong, or at least that’s what I think. To me, life is made up entirely of choices (if we disregard what I’ve previously written about not having a choice), and these choices is what makes up your everyday life. Actually it may not seem so to you, but this is because you’ve learnt to filter the choices that aren’t very important to you out since it would be too much work to revaluate your choice every time.
So, you can see it as follows: Life’s full of choices (and probabilities), and the only thing you have to do is to find the choices you don’t have, and make the decision you want to make (No-one should decide what you should do with your life).
And at last I’d like to say that as everything is subjective my friend’s parents’ statement may be true to them, but that is by no means a view you should impose on anyone else. And: Remember that the world is full of possibilities; you just have to find them.

hmm to tired to write in english…
Det är väldigt intressant det du tar upp
Men jag skulle vilja påstå att du har fel och rätt samtidigt. 
Det är fel att säga så till sina barn, även om man inte vill att de ska gå runt och tro att de har ett val när man själv inte anser att man har det. Det är ju viktigt att låta barnen själva upptäcka detta. Dvs man ska inte styra barnen intellektuella utveckling i allt för stor uttsträckning.
Läste om en teori som utgår ifrån att vi tror att iv har ett val men att egentligen har vi inte det, fast inte nått förutbestämt öde eller dyl utan snarare att vi har valen. Men pga vår historia så kommer vi välja ett visst alternativ och därför har vi egnetligen inget val, eller vi har ett val men kan bara välja ett alternativ, som vårat undermedvetna redan bestämt.
Lite flummigt men jag pallar inte att fixa källor och sånt just nu.

Allt i den här posten utgår ifrån att man “lever i illusionen”, annars finns det inga val. Och det är nog det de flesta gör, för (som jag kan ha sagt tidigare) det är mycket smidigare att göra så. Om du skulle tänka på att ‘du inte har något val’ så skulle det påverka dig till att göra andra val än du annars skulle ha gjort. Då man gör saker gör man dem av en viss anledning, och man kan bara göra dem på ett sätt, givet alla förhållanden som råder.
Men alltså: Om man (som man vanligvis gör struntar i att man egentligen inte har något val) så gäller det, precis som jag skrev här, att göra/hitta de val man vill.
Och att det var flummigt gör ju inte så mycket, jag förstod ju i alla fall.
